The Exhibition

A collection of Artwork, Photographs and Inspiration from:

‘A Sense of Place’ – ‘A Photographic Ensemble… ‘

“I remember driving over the Crown Range – usually I’m rushed for time but not today – today is different.  I stop at the top for a photo.  Grab my coffee I’d been drinking whilst driving up from Wanaka… a coffee I’d bought from Florences on my way out of town.  The stereo blasting had me singing all the way over the hill – probably why I still had my coffee in my hand.  At the top, I notice the summit sign – 1076m and the top of the Crown Range Road – the highest highway in New Zealand.  It’s not snowing today, no need for snow chains, not yet – it’s not quite the middle of winter…

I start thinking.   I’m thinking everything all at once and I’m looking at Queenstown Airport – straight down the length of the runway and everything comes into focus…

The start of an exhibition… the beginning of a gallery and the continuation of a dream… Thank you for the inspiration – from the bottom of my heart, thank you all”  Karina Fay  – Monark Gallery – May 2017
